Why Some People are Afflicted with Demonic Activity in Their Life
Let us start with a story of a woman we were ministering to. She had manifestations of voicing curses against her family and friends, and in her church. Keep in mind that this woman is a Born-Again Christian. As my wife and I probed a little more into her situation, the woman revealed she had bitterness against her brother, who also had leadership at the church. Demonic activity had been tormenting her for many years, and it would not depart from her as we confronted the devils in her. We determined that the devil has legal rights to her. Bitterness and un-forgiveness are large strongholds that can attach to a person’s mind and soul that may eventually bring sickness on the body, including the bones and joints. The only way to be healed and delivered from these afflictions is to willfully repent from bitterness and un-forgiveness. Then, you can be delivered from these tormenting spirits.
There are others afflicted because their relatives and ancestors have been involved in occult worship. Even a Christian church, seemingly normal from the outside, can have occultic practices. Let me talk about a young woman who had attended a church as a child with her family. As we prayed for her, she remembered times when she was at that church, being in a small room, with a leader of that church, fondling her. She also remembered that this leader would worship Satan while in the act of fondling her. This happening to her many times, but had only remembered these incidences when we prayed for her. This is a dissociation that occurred in her mind while she was a child, which happened because of trauma. This dissociative part that we call an alter, had been hiding in her for many years, while she continued living a normal life. She would only remember these traumatic incidents at night while she slept. She would have nightmares of these memories. Eventually she asked for help, to be healed from these nightmares. The process of healing for this woman took many months of counseling and prayer. The alters that had this trauma had to renounce all intimate soul ties with the leader and become one with the core. The alters also had to committing their lives to Christ. After, we confronted the demons. There were very strong demons of idolatry and occultic spirits attached to the alters, and we cast them, and sent them to the pit of hell. This woman was healed and delivered temporarily. I say this because part of her was attached to the glamour of the world, and she did not continue with her healing and deliverance. The Bible says that if we are friends with the world, we become an enemy with God – James 4:4.
Let me say, these deliverances were not easy. In the Bible, Ephesians 6:12, “We wrestle with the demonic entities in the name of Jesus”. We wrestle in a sense, struggling to cast out these devils for many hours. There was such a stench coming from these evil spirits. If it wasn’t for the Lord’s strength and power, the radiation of evil presence would have weakened us. There are many others that suffer under demonic torment, those that not only by sexual abuse but physical abuse, rejection, isolation and self hatred. Keep in mind that deliverance is not a quick fix, it is a process. Healing of one layer after another layer and so on until you become whole and healed. For some, this takes weeks, others months or years. But, there is hope for anyone suffering with demonic oppression.
